Our Elementary School program operates in self-contained classrooms using certified teachers. Instructional assistants are available at key times in the day to assist the teacher in working with each child as a uniquely created, individually gifted child of God. Class sizes are generally limited to 18 students to help ensure the level of instructional excellence we strive to achieve.
Students in elementary school are actively engaged daily in learning the core subject areas of Bible, Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies (History), and Science. During the course of a week, students also receive instruction in Health, Music, Art, Media, and Physical Education.
The curriculum used in the school portrays the world from a Christian world view. It is Biblically sound, as well as educationally challenging. Textbooks are a resource used to support the implementation of our curriculum and may change from time to time as we seek to refine and improve our program. The current publishers used in the various subject areas are as follows:
Textbooks are generally purchased for families using their textbook fee and are able to be written in, highlighted, and kept by students. Exceptions to this are noted by teachers and in such cases, the school loans the textbooks to the students for their use while needed and then asks for them to be returned in satisfactory condition.
